負責人張靚妤，為土生土長花蓮人，放下年輕時的成就而返回到故鄉，她與先生共營一家小店，心中只專注於製作者的創作而不去追求其效率、速度及利潤，翼求跟世界各地的老師傅與工匠合作後，結合在地新創意與老工藝，融合並創造出富有故事且獨具特色的生活文化產品。

此外，他也積極學習陶藝、金工與木工等工藝技術，企圖於花蓮打造純正MIH（Made in Hualien）的產品-原料、產品設計與製作，期望發展出擁有花蓮在地特色及風格色彩的生活文化產品，近期以【Ocean Non Profit Project 工藝X公益計畫 】獲得各界廣大迴響。

 

 

【Thinking Good Life】Pottery

 

Thinking Good Life is a pottery studio shop based at Hualien local. The artist couple gave up their successful career in Taipei city and moved back to hometown Hualien, opening up a small shop.  Going against the high-efficiency, profit-oriented model, the artist couple focuses on the ceramic art and crafts, turning to masters all over the world for help in polishing up their skills.  They combine innovative skills with traditional crafts and manage to creative one-of-its-kind everyday items that all have interesting stories behind them.

 

Furthermore, they travelled the extra mile of acquiring pottery, metal and wood crafting techniques with the hope of turning their works into purely MIH (Made in Hualien) items, which means that everything takes place locally from materials to the final products.  Their aim is making everyday gadgets and small items that may feature Hualien.

最初好想好好生活的我們，毅然決然放下在中國工作的一切，選擇回到原鄉花蓮，重新回歸生活的本質。並透過經營選物店，喚醒更多終日忙碌的人也能想想如何好好生活。

Committed to living a good life, we left everything behind in China and return to our home—Hualien, starting over by returning to the very essence of living. By running a boutique, we wish to awake those who are occupied by work day-in and day-out to start thinking about the life they truly want.

如今，不只好想生活了。

Now, living a good life is no longer enough.

 

秉持著好好過生活的初衷，一年多來無師承他法，藉由自學不斷精算調配比例、研製釉藥燒造，始終堅持以手工一只一只細細捏製，將我們所有的人生淬煉全力紋進每件作品裡。

To fulfill our promise of living a good life, we spent a year, apprenticing under no one, learning the secrets to ceramics, calculating ratios, developing glaze, handmade one piece at a time, putting everything we have into every work we produce.

 

因此，這裡的每件器皿都會呼吸、各自擁有獨特的生命感，期待你也能在這找到與你頻率共振的一只，就像靈魂伴侶般，一起品嚐最真切的生活本味。

靈感取自李白《夜宿山寺》危樓高百尺，手可摘星辰。不敢高聲語，恐驚天上人。

在有如流星高速燃燒生命狀態下冶煉，開創出通往無垠星空的入口。

此刻無須登高遠行，即能再三回味詩仙雅興。

 

Nightsky Series

The inspiration of this series come from Libai’s “The Summit Temple”.

 

Tonight I stay at the Summit Temple

Here I could pluck the stars with my hand

I dare not speak aloud in the silence

For fear of disturbing the dwellers of heaven

 

Smelted in flame and heat resembling a meteor,

that which opens a entrance into the vast night sky,

there is no need for reach for height tonight,

to relish the sentiment of the Poet Immortal.

是食器，更是時器。

隨著時間的流動，一刀一刀手工刻畫每片紋理。

每回撫觸都能感覺到那一道道紋理像花朵般，在手中、在眼前舒展綻開。

每口杯盤，都是一個花季。

 

Textured Series

Food-ware, and time-ware.

As time flows, a single pedal is carved with each cut.

With every touch, you can feel the pedals bloom in front of your eyes,

as if in your palms hold a season of blossom.

 

海浪系列 Ocean

 

花蓮的海，建構自由靈魂與美好生活的一部分

 

Hualien’s ocean, an integral part of free spirit and quality life

 

曾經從他鄉城市流浪到另一個城市，隨時空流轉之間，那深埋在骨子裡的潮味，總讓我不斷比較那記憶中花蓮的寶石藍，那般深邃、象徵未來和自由多變的海，只有那片藍能夠撫慰我的靈魂。所以，嘗試創作出記憶與現實同樣美麗多變的海洋，從使用各種工具手工刻出一片片浪花，到模擬生動的海潮流向，從描繪深層海色的多樣變化，到艷陽下波光淋漓的清透感，多重獨家實驗性工序交疊出觸最動心靈的海。

 

I have wandered in distant lands, drifting from one city to another. As time passes, the scent of the ocean deep within began to emerge, reminding me of the sapphire blue back in Hualien that is so profound and ever-changing, the only piece of blue that can solace my soul. I attempt to recreate that memory, the very same blue that is as gorgeous and whimsical as it is in reality. I used a variety of tools to carve individual waves, coloring various shades of ocean, replicating the translucency of the waves under the sun, and by employing multiple exclusive experimental processes recreating the sea that soothes the soul.

 

你可以帶著花蓮的海，到你家，到你的桌上，到你的生活。就如同讓海構成我靈魂的一部份，也是你的。

 

You can bring the ocean of Hualien into your home, onto your table, and into your life. Just like how ocean is a part of my soul, let it be a part of yours too.

《 好想 》創立的初衷，有個很重要的理想：

「不論賺錢與否，只要"好想"存在的一天，每年都要為花蓮在地做一件無酬無償的公益計劃。」

 

Ocean Non Profit Project — Craft x Charity

There is an important ideal behind the brand “Thinking Good Life”:

“Making money or not, as long as the brand exist, we will plan one non-profit project for Hualien every year."

 

除了為計劃設計製作一系列作品外，也將此作品的全部利潤捐贈給在地相關公益單位。

 

Aside from wares designed exclusively for these non-profit project, all the profits from these wares will go towards local charity organizations.

 

而針對花蓮創作的海浪系列將捐贈給花蓮最靠海也最靠近人心的海邊醫院《 門諾醫院 / 新生兒照護單位 》，及多年來努力宣導海洋保護和環境教育的《 黑潮海洋文教基金會 》，即便花蓮資源困乏，但因你們的購買，讓每位在花蓮出生成長的小孩，能夠從存活到生活的路走遠點、走穩點，謝謝您的幫助。

 

The profit of the Ocean series designed for Hualien will go to the Mennonite Christian Hospital, the seaside hospital in Hualien that is closest to the sea and closest to the locals, and Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation that advocates marine conservation and environmental education for many years. Despite the lack of resources, thanks to your purchases, every child born in Hualien will now have the opportunity to walk further and steadier in life.
